Word on the street today is all about the Xbox 360 - more specifically, the games contained therein. Those of you who were bracing for the horrible wait until March 13th to be able to play a bit of Resident Evil 5 have received some good news. The latest update in the landmark survival-horror series is set to tease you, with a two-level playable demo made available exclusively on the Xbox 360 for one week only, starting Monday, January 26.
To know a bit more about what's in store, a shiny new, high-def trailer for the game - previously seen only at Tokyo Game Show last October - will be launched onto Xbox Live this Friday, January 16th.

Get your first glimpse at how daylight can be just as scary as darkness in this new demo, which samples some of the revolutionary new features of Resident Evil 5, including two-player co-op and voice chat, plus new environments, characters and weapons. You'll be trampling all over Assembly Place and Shanty Town, two stages from the early part of the game, both of which promise plenty of bloodthirsty, infected Majini enemies, as well as a few puzzles to keep you interested. If you don't have any mates to play with you, there is single-player on offer, with AI support - or else log in with a friend, split-screen on the same console, or across Xbox LIVE.
This sneaky peek means that Xbox 360 gamers will be the first to take on Capcom's new enemies in battle - not only the weapon-wielding infected Majini, but also the huge, hooded Majini Executioner and the terrifying Chainsaw Majini. If you'd like, play through with the classic Resident Evil-style controls, or if you'd prefer, check out the new "Action" controls, which take their inspiration from games like Halo 3 and Gears of War 2.

Chris Redfield is set to arrive on March 13 on both Xbox 360 and PS3, as the hero heading off to Africa to deal with the latest bioterrorism threat - one that's literally transofrming local animals and people into maddened, mindless creatures. He's joined by new partner Sheva Alomar, and the pair must cooperate to discover just what's going on behind this evil plot. It's up to you to choose which you'd prefer to play - assume control of either Sheva or Chris and experience Resident Evil 5 in new ways.
