Silent Hill: Homecoming - Official word on what's changed

After all the fun that accompanied Silent Hill: Homecoming and its release into Australia, we've just received word from local distributors Atari about what was changed in the Australian-edited version. Remember, the game was first refused classification last year, then an altered copy was submitted and approved, claiming a number of changes.

While the original report made things sound a bit worrying, it seems that developers Konami made some fairly minor adaptations, and promise a minimal effect on gameplay and storyline.
Official Statement:

The major changes to the Australian release of Silent Hill: Homecoming will be made to its cut scenes, where new camera angles and techniques will be used to reduce the impact of the unclassifiable material. These changes have only been made to some scenes, while the original storyline remains unchanged. Because of the availability of an R rating in New Zealand, the version of Silent Hill Homecoming that will be available in that territory will remain unedited.
...now, as any good horror fan will tell you, things are scarier if you can't see them. So by changing camera angles to avoid explicit scenes, they may have 'accidentally' enhanced the frightening aspects of the game.

Meanwhile, it would be remiss of me to not point out the last sentence of the statement there - sounds a bit like Atari are suggesting you get on the phone to your Kiwi mates when the game's released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in late February, doesn't it?
