Die servers, die! Wait… most of the servers are already dead. There are hardly any other Age of Conan players around. Well I’ll cut said server down, and straddle it and measure out the ports, lock in that I/O connection, play master and slave, and merge that sucker myself if Funcom doesn’t speed things along. (I was told by a network administrator from Games on Net that’s the procedure for MMOG server merges. The process sounds a little too intimate if you ask me – kinky bloke.)

Let’s talk about the merge... Is Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures dead? Yes. It is deader than an undead zombie. Sorry no dead baby jokes - blame Funcom. On the other hand this is great news for active players. And not so much for the overlords at Funcom since the servers are dropping from a walloping 49 to a paltry 18.

This bloodbath isn't a surprise. We knew it was coming… back in September. The sweeping merge proves that Age of Conan’s subscription retention rate was abysmal. Still there's a loyal lingering fanbase and at least the crazy active Barbarians got what they were asking for, and all mergers should be completed by tomorrow afternoon.

As you probably have heard, we merged the two US servers 'Bloodspire' and 'Hyperborea' on 7th of January. We monitored the new server closely and can confirm that the merge was going very well and without issues. So we will now proceed with the next steps for the other servers.

Firstly, we present you the list of the planned servers to be merged (see below). We will proceed with merging next week and the specific date and time as well as the expected downtime will be announced soon too. As a general information we can already say that the plan is to merge all EU servers in one go and all US servers in another go.
