Rock Band gets a visit from the Big O, with a six-song track pack
Yesterday, I heard that more people wanted "older music" from their video games. Apparently, Harmonix heard you too, today releasing the Roy Orbison Pack 01 for Rock Band.

Featuring six tracks from the Big O, you'll be able to croon along with You Got It, Mean Woman Blues, Claudette, Ooby Dooby, In Dreams and of course, Oh, Pretty Woman.

(Do you know how tricky it is to find Orbison-friendly screenshots?)
Rock Band: Roy Orbison
Content: Roy Orbison Pack 01
Build your Rock Band library by purchasing this song game track pack: Roy Orbison Pack 01. This pack includes "You Got It," "Mean Woman Blues," "Claudette," "Oh, Pretty Woman," "Ooby Dooby" and "In Dreams" by Roy Orbison. PLEASE NOTE: Rock Band game disc is required to play song game tracks. This song game track pack includes six song game tracks at a discounted rate over individual purchases. Many Rock Band songs are available as both a multipack and as a single game track. These songs are exactly the same (unless expressly noted). It is possible to download the same song twice.
I like the fact this is labelled "Pack 01" - Mr. Orbison has a back-catalogue stretching some 50+ years, so I'm hoping we'll see more in the future!

A quick perusal of the game's official website reveals that you won't need to share in too many of Mr. Orbison's great talents, four of the six tracks have been given the lowest difficulty rating, a 1 out of 5. Mean Woman Blues gets a 2, while Ooby Dooby is a little more complex, at 4.

So - Ooby Dooby was first released in 1956. Is this old enough for you, or do developers have to dig a bit more through history to find music that you'll want to play along with?
+ 1 Digg it!
