The Last Remnant, the latest RPG from Square Enix was recently released on the Xbox 360. Some time ago, we brought you the news that the game would be a multi-platform release, but there has been little word as to when the PC and PS3 versions of the title would eventuate.
Today, that changes, with Square Enix having just announced that the PC version of the game will be made available to PAL regions in the Australian Autumn of 2009. The RPG, which is powered by the Unreal 3 engine focuses on protagonist Rush, who witnesses the abduction of his sister. The game's tale then unfolds as Rush embarks on a search for his sister.

John Yamamoto, President and Chief Exectuive Officer of Square Enix had the following to say about the intentions of a PC release:

For those with fears of woeful optimisation - given that this one is powered by the Unreal 3 engine, there is little that can go wrong, as the engine is fairly solid, with the exception of some texture pop-in issues.

The Last Remnant represents a significant step in bringing our titles to a global audience and to all fans regardless of the platforms that they own. Following the Xbox 360 release, we hope to reach a new audience with the Games for Windows version of The Last Remnant and I hope that fans enjoy this exciting new adventure. The PC version of the title will feature everything included in the Xbox 360 version of The Last Remnant, along with the introduction of new features. Large scale battles which will be presented with "unrivalled cinematic intensity" are also promised, along with a selective encounter system - which allows you to avoid battles should you choose to do so. The Last Remnant is currently available for the Xbox 360. The announcement of a PC release will see full Games for Windows support, a growing trend with multi platform releases.
