Gears of War 2 chainsaws through 3-million-sold mark

The headline says it all -- and is it really any surprise? The sequel to the game that sold a bazillion copies has now sold a bazillion copies too. According to the Vice President at Epic Games, Mark Rein, "Microsoft confirmed to me this afternoon that Gears of War 2 sell-through surpassed 3 million units as of last week."

Although we all expected Gears of War 2 to do well in sales this is still an impressive achievement, especially when you consider the game's single-platform availability, and that its only been in stores for a little over a month. It's no Wrath of the Lich King, but what is?
