Konami have announced that the next expansion pack for Metal Gear Online, entitled "MEME", is due for release on the 25th of November. The expansion will add the ability to play online as Liquid Ocelot and Mei Ling, who will each have unique abilities. Three new maps will also be included in the expansion pack, along with a number of other features.

The MEME Expansion will be priced at EUR7.99, and will be available for pre-purchase on the 18th of November in Europe. A bundle, which contains the first expansion to the online component of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots entitled GENE, will also be available for purchase at EUR12.99.


Ocelot, and Mei Ling
The MEME expansion sees introduction of Liquid Ocelot and Mei Ling as playable characters, and is a first for the series. In multiplayer modes, Liquid Ocelot will have the ability to manipulate the Sons of the Patriots lock system, and will be able to deactivate the weaponry of a particular foe. Meanwhile, Mei Ling will have three unique skills - the ability to use the Trench Mortar weapon, Soliton Radar, and 'the means to transfix enemies'.

Three new maps will be included in the MEME expansion. The first of these is Silo Sunset, a battlefield composed of 'rough, uneven industrial elements'. Next, there is Forest Firefight, which will feature 'dense foliage' and finally, Winter Warehouse - which is set in a 'snow-blown deserted factory'.


The MEME expansion will also include several changes which have been made to the game, along with a number of rules and server settings, a new 'Tournament lobby' and a collection of 'humorous elements' and objects which appeared in previous Metal Gear Solid games, such as the Crocodile cap, Ghillie Suite camo, and an afro hair style.

Available on the 25th of November, the MEME expansion is the second update to Metal Gear Online, the online component to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
