Blizzard say: Cheating? No Way!

While we're all waiting (im)patiently for the Wrath of the Lich King launch this evening (UgLyPuNk and I are in Melbourne, Timmy Campbell is in Brisbane and Acaila will be in Adelaide - will you be there - if you see us, say hi!), there's a bunch of gamers who'll be missing out on getting their Blizzard fix any time soon.

As part of a massive crackdown, the publisher has just suspended more than 350,000 StarCraft and Diablo II accounts, due to the use of third-party hacks.

As part of our continued effort to ensure a fair and fun online experience for all Battle.net players, we have expanded our efforts to remove cheaters from StarCraft and Diablo II.

As a reminder, we reserve the right to close the accounts and ban the CD keys of players who are caught cheating on Battle.net. Cheating ruins the game experience for legitimate players, and we will not tolerate it.
The Diablo II CD keys that have been linked to the closed accounts for that game have been restricted from playing on Battle.net for a month, with a warning that repeat offenders will have their accounts closed - and a permanent ban placed on the CD keys.

This comes quick on the heels of an announcement that a few World of Warcraft players have been under investigation for a similar reason - never let it be said that Blizzard are soft.
