The wrath begins – Azeroth is under attack by the Lich King’s scourge! Abominations and Frost Wyrms are assaulting Orgrimmar and Stormwind in massive droves. There's a call to arms and faction leaders have been summoned to help repel the attacks. The dire cause to enter Northrend looms on the minds from both sides.

The event is the prologue to the Wrath of the Lich King which launches in Australia on Friday. The events loop on a 15 minute interval and will likely end very soon. What awaits you...


In Orgrimmar Lady Sylvanas Windrunner and Garrosh Hellscream have gathered in the Valley of Honor. The party tries to persuade Thrall to send his forces to Northrend. Thrall does not heed to their advice and instead opts to send scouts to Northrend and convene with Lady Jaina Proudmoore and other alliance ambassadors. Garrosh Hellscream becomes infuriated with Thrall’s too careful rationale and challenges him to a battle. Thrall accepts after being called a coward and Hellscream almost WINS but victory is interrupted as the scourge begin to lie waste and the fate of Orgrimmar lay in their hands.


Meanwhile in Stormwind Bolvar Frodragon, Broll Bearmantle, Valeera Sanguinar, and King Varian Wrynn are gathered at the Stormwind Harbor. The leaders agree that the time has come to rise up and storm Northrend. Defeating the Lich King and his armies is an affront that must be dealt with at all costs. Bolvar Frodragon is gathering his armies in preparation to set sail in a perilous mission that will see the costs of many lives, including ten news levels, but before their sojourn Stormwind must be saved.

The events are very similar in that both have scourge attacks but the Horde version is a bit more fleshed out thus making it better. These are dynamic events that players won’t get to experience firsthand ever again. If you plan on playing or already do check them both out!
