Burnout Paradise unveils 2009 update: Flying cars?

Okay kids. Let's talk cars for a moment. Specifically, let's talk Burnout Paradise Legendary Cars. Over the year, the guys at Criterion have released some pretty amazing vehicles, including the Hippie Wagon and the bizarre Steel Oval Racer in their recent Cagney pack, while the Bikes pack introduced - you guessed it - motorbikes to Paradise City, for the first time ever.
2009 sees some even bigger developments, taking Burnout vehicles to the next level... starting with the amazing Jansen 88 Special.

A classic 80's-styled, silver sports car - based on the popular Jansen P12
On the surface, you could be forgiven for thinking this one's not so special, really. But once you get to know it, you'll notice a few major modifications.
Firstly... fill up the gauge and hit boost, triggering burning flame trails spurting from your back wheels!
The 88 Special is fast, easy to manouvre and the designers promise that it's "great in the air". They don't just mean that it handles well off jumps - while driving this car, hit L3 and the wheels will retract as the car enters hover mode!

The car will cruise through Paradise City at head-height.
There are four new cars being made available as new downloadable content for Burnout Paradise, and this is just the first. Keep an eye out for the GT Nighthawk, the Manhattan Spirit, and the Cavalry Bootlegger. They'll be available to purchase individually - or if you gotta catch 'em all, the whole set offers a discount.
So! What do you think? Burnout Paradise just got a whole lot more replayable?
...can't wait to see what Criterion's next "killer announcement" is, offering more details on what we can expect for Burnout Paradise in 2009.
Thanks to leca for this submission!
If you've seen something interesting that you think we should know about, why not drop us a line! We'd love to hear from you!
