Sony to release PSP games on UMD and Online simultaneously

The service, which will launch in Japan on the 15th of October, will see that first-party PSP titles will see a release on the UMD Media format, whilst also being available for purchase online.
The first title that will be distributed in this manner is Destroy All Heroes 2. Sony published titles such as LocoRoco 2, Patapon 2 and Resistance: Retribution will also enjoy simultaneous releases.
There is no word as to when such a service will be introduced globally, but it can be considered a wise move from Sony, with many gamers outspoken regarding the flaws of the UMD format, which is noisy and slow. We'll keep you informed as we learn more.
