Need for Speed Undercover online modes ... uncovered
Electronic Arts has just uncovered the multiplayer modes that will feature in their latest Need for Speed game, Need for Speed: Undercover. The introduction of a new multiplayer mode, entitled "Cops and Robbers" will see team based racing enter the fray, with players divided between upholding the law and committing devious acts.

The "Cops and Robbers" mode will see four thieves tasked with picking up a package, and delivering it to a drop-off point, whilst four players acting as cops attempt to stop them. It will consist of two rounds, giving the teams an opportunity to play on both sides of the law.

UPDATE:EA have also released a bunch of new wallpapers for the title.

Bill Harrison, Executive Producer of Need for Speed: Undercover explains what the "Cops and Robbers" mode will be like:
High-intensity police chases are a signature component of Undercover and this extends to the multiplayer experience as well. The cops and robbers mode will thrust players into adrenaline-pumping battles as they utilize the Heroic Driving Engine to deliver or prevent the delivery of the package to the safe house.
With only two rounds before (presumably) a winner is declared, how the winner is determined from two rounds only puzzles me at present, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. It is likely that it will be based on time to complete objective, but any information on the mode is sparse.

Need for Speed: Undercover will also feature circuit and sprint modes, both online and off-line, along with a soundtrack boasting around thirty tracks, which are incidentally available for purchase through EA Trax.

If you'd like to tell the world that your eagerly awaiting the game, we've got a bunch of freshly acquired wallpapers on the mirror. Need for Speed: Undercover will launch on pretty much every console, with a release planned for DS, PC, PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and even mobile phones. The title is due to hit Australian stores on the 20th of November.
