Legendary release date pushed back; new screens

It's been quite a few months since we heard anything about Legendary. The latest update is that, unfortunately, the local release has been pushed back to November 14th. To comfort bereaved gamers everywhere, Spark Unlimited have blessed us with a whole bunch of new screens!
Legendary hasn't been universally successful in stirring a sense of anticipation, with opinions divided here at GON, but despite Spark unlimited's not totally stellar performances of the past, the concepts behind Legendary are just cool enough to prompt a burst of optimistic patience.

Legendary puts paid to FPS cliches by eschewing the usual settings - space, current battlefields, past battlefields - by dropping the player into a modern city rippled with gothic architecture. I can see a lot of potential for interesting gameplay with lots of alleys, exteriors, and levels with plenty of height as well as breadth. Furthermore, gone are the ubiquitous terrorist or alien enemies, in favour of mythical beasts and monsters. Dodging around chimney pots battling off gryphons and wyrmlings? Excellent.

As you can see from these screens, and the stack more on the mirror, the enemies are looking pretty good, fitting in nicely with the gloomy atmosphere and general look of the game. As the clock ticks down to local release, here's hoping Legendary can deliver the goods when it hits Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 14th.
