First gameplay trailer in new Final Fantasy title

It's pretty difficult to form an opinion on an unreleased game from a pair of trailers, neither of which is in a language I have mastered beyond basic survival, but with this particular little piece of deliciousness, I don't need to form an opinion. Regardless of my opinion, regardless of anybody's opinion, Final Fantasy: Dissidia is going to sell like hotcakes. So, without further ado or commentary, here is the first all-gameplay trailer for your excited perusal:

I'm not arguing with this cash cow: I have fanboy written across my very soul, and Dissidia looks set to cater to my shameful tendencies to buy fizzing piles of goo if they have the right character's face emblazoned on them. In the vein as Warriors Orochi, Dissidia brings together fan-favourite characters from different titles in the same series; a brain wave of KOEI's which made a hit with fans. Square-Enix seem set on the same formula: an earlier trailer is chock a block full of appearances from some of the series' most obsessively beloved characters, includings a handful from very early titles to please the die-hards and 16-bit snobs.

In its favour, the PSP, Dissidia's future home, makes a very good platform for games that are all about feverishly unlocking added content while ignoring the fact that you're repeating the same action nine million times. What would be simple drudgery on the couch is a pleasant distraction on the bus or in lectures.
What little information exists regarding Dissidia's gameplay and features is almost all translated from the game's official site or extrapolated from screenshots, and the true fanboys amongst us will have already net-trawled and gathered all these murmuring hypotheses to their loving bosoms. Given that there's always a chance Final Fantasy: Dissidia may not even make it to English-speaking shores (and pray that if it does, it includes an option for the Japanese dub), I'm shying away from obsessively listing possible cast inclusions and plot points, so let's leave it there, with the conclusion: Fanboys, get out your wallets. Everyone else, stay tuned for more updates.
