Quantum of Solace game will release before film

Activision have announced a release date for the upcoming Bond movie tie-in, Quantum of Solace. With the theatrical release of the film set for the 27th of November in Australia, and earlier in other parts of the world, it is a bit surprising to see that the game will before the film in many parts of the world.

Developed by Treyarch, and utilising the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Engine, the newest game instalment in the Bond universe has many fans hoping that it could be the next Goldeneye. Will this actually be the case? We'll have to wait and see - but wait... "Until when?!", you cry?

The US release date for Quantum of Solace is November the 4th, just over a week before the theatrical release of the film in the United States. Australian audiences may have to wait a tiny bit longer, with a local release looking to be the 19th of November. This is by no means set in stone, and could change.

Quantum of Solace will bridge the gap between Casino Royale and its namesake, introducing players to cinematic action which will blend first person-gun play and a third-person cover system. The game will be available on the DS, PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.
