Today, we've learnt that PURE has begun its walk down the plank, somewhat early, with PURE racing into stores a week earlier than anticipated. PURE, recently departing for a voyage through the high seas, will drop anchor at Australian retail outlets on Thursday the 2nd of October.
Set in seven real world locations, PURE is set to deliver "heart-pounding racing experiences" across more than 35 multiple route tracks. Players will be able to pull-off seventy "unbelievable tricks", inspiring "vertigo-inducing jumps, off the wall tricks, and stunning graphics," as Craig Relyea Senior Vice President of global Marketing at Disney Interactive explains.
Developed by Black Rock Studio, PURE, like Mirror's Edge, received accolade in the aftermath of E3, announced "Best Racing Game of E3 2008" by the Game Critics Awards. Jason Avent, Game Director at Black Rock Studio is enthusiastic about bringing PURE to gamers:
At Black Rock Studio, we’re big fans of both arcade racing games and action sports so this seemed like the perfect combination. PURE is a game that should excite players and we’re looking forward to seeing their responses.

Featuring 16 player races, against either human opponents, or AI opponents, PURE will feature many gameplay modes, including vanilla Races, Freestyle (which focuses on stunts), and Sprints over short, intense tracks.
PURE will be available on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in Australia on October the 2nd.
