Something big is happening in the Star Wars universe... but while you're glued to the cinema screen, don't forget about your home gaming console. As of this Thursday, August 21st, both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will be able to unleash the Force with their own downloadable demo of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which also features a special tutorial, designed to teach gamers how to use the game's Force Grip power.

The demo proper features the TIE Fighter Construction Facility, one of the early levels of the game. It is under siege by a Rahm Kota, a Jedi General. Darth Vader has sent you, the Secret Apprentice, to hunt down the General - but - in order to remain a secret, must leave no witnesses.


An entirely new chapter in the Star Wars saga, The Force Unleashed sets you up as Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice, as it promises to unveil new revelations about the galaxy you find yourself in. Set in the widely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, the players are given the task to assist Vader in his quest to remove all Jedi from the universe - while facing decisions that could change their own destiny!

The first "next-generation" game developed internally by LucasArts, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force, taking full advantage of newly-developed technologies such as NaturalMotion Ltd's euphoria and Digital Molecular Matter by Pixelux Entertainment. It will be available for not only Xbox 360 and PS3, but also PSP, Wii, PS2 and DS on September 17th, so you'd better get ready!
