PlayStation 3: Twice the storage space as standard
Sony are firm in their belief that everything needs to be bigger to be better - and, as a result, have announced the new 80GB PlayStation 3, replacing the 40GB model.

As announced at this year's E3, the new model features all of the same functionality and features as the current 40GB model, but with twice the storage space - so you can store all the games, music, photos, movies and other entertainment content for the same price - RRP AU$699.

(Not only that, but you'll get a DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller thrown in, too!)

The DUALSHOCK 3 introduces the most intuitive and involved gameplay experience, thanks to the Bluetooth wireless technology and the inclusion of SIXAXIS motion-sensors, plus in-built rumble - so each explosion, hit and crash is more realistic than ever before.

Michael Ephraim, Managing Director SCE Aust. and New Zealand, explains the decision, which will be launched on August 28th:
"Having achieved an install base of over 350,000 consoles to date, the PS3 has already found its place in many Australian homes. With more compelling content being made available to PS3 owners every week through the PLAYSTATION Network, the extra storage offered in this new model will prove invaluable.

"In addition, the 80GB memory allows you consolidate all of your digital music, photos and movies in one central place within the home and experience them on a high definition TV. Add to this the ability to enjoy Blu-ray movies and games and it's clear why the PS3 has earned its place as the leading entertainment hub in today's home."

LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Buzz!

The diverse and ever-expanding software lineup continues to help the appeal of the PS3 grow and grow, reaching a broad range of consumers - from general enthusiasts (who might be interested in upcoming titles such as LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift), right up to hard-core gamers (who may prefer Resistance 2 or SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation).

Then, when you add in the social gaming titles like SingStar or Buzz!, the PS3 really does offer something for everybody looking for entertainment - and from August 28th, it'll be offering twice as much!
