Left 4 Dead: Takes on the world
Getting back to another familiar topic, Valve have also announced today that their upcoming zombie-survival co-op action title, Left 4 Dead will be shown off at a number of different locations all over the world in the coming months.

More accurately: "almost all over the world, but definitely not Australia".
However, if you happen to be heading to Leipzig Games Convention in Germany, Festival du Jeu Video in France, or PC Gamer Showdown in the UK, you'll have a chance to check out the PC version - while the Xbox 360 version will be debuted at the upcoming Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, USA. At all events, members of the development team will be hanging around, showing off their project, explaining things and giving away free stuff!

Blending the dramatic, narrative experience we've come to know and love from single-player action games such as the Half-Life series, with the "social entertainment experience" offered in multiplayer titles such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead promises to be something a bit special.

Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve explains:
"The shared experience of Left 4 Dead is unlike that of any other action game. That's what we've experienced playing the game, and from showing the game to the press and our partners. It sounds cliché, but in many ways you have to play this one to truly appreciate what we're attempting. So, to give gamers a chance to sample this new type of experience first hand, we're taking Left 4 Dead on the road."
If you're in the wrong geographic location and unable to check out Left 4 Dead early, it's just a short wait until the scheduled release in November, for PC and Xbox 360. In the meantime, maybe check out the screenshots we've collated for you!
