While it was announced quite some time ago, Killzone 2 developers Guerrilla Games have been fairly quiet regarding any new information about the title. Enter, once more, last week's E3 event.

We've got all the information for you right here, including new screenshots, trailers and the like. Killzone 2, which will appear on the Playstation 3 is the sequel to the Playstation 2 title, Killzone. It looks pretty special, and has its very own unique visual style.

The storyline of the Killzone series, focuses on an alien threat known as the Helghast. Assuming the role of Sev, a member of a battle-hardened special forces unit known as the Legion, players will need to lead a group of highly trained soldiers in a assault against the alien race on the planet Helghan.

Killzone 2's feature set seems appropriate for a 'next-gen console experience', unlike many other games of late.

Killzone 2 is another Playstation 3 exclusive, and was exhibited alongside Sony's other exclusive games at E3. Such games include Resistance 2 and God of War III.

Killzone 2 is scheduled for a release early next year.
