In one of TheMeadow's recent Now Playing features, a title I hadn't heard anything about piqued my interest a little based on the brief information he mentioned. Legendary: The Box is an all new IP developed by Spark Unlimited.
The premise for Legendary: The Box, is a very interesting one indeed. Charles Deckard, an art thief is convinced to steal (and open!) Pandora's Box. Y'know, that mythical 'box' which is actually a jar (due to a mistranslation) that contains all the evils of mankind.
Set for release on the PC, PS3 and the Xbox 360, Legendary: The Box contemplates a war that develops between myth and man following the opening of Pandora's Box. E3 has seen a flurry of new screenshots and trailers released for Legendary: The Box, and we've got all the information ready for you.

While we haven't had much coverage of Legendary: The Box previously, it sounds like a compelling pitch. In the announcement for the game, Craig Allen, CEO of Spark Unlimited explains that Legendary: The Box is the studio's dream game:

Nonetheless, the plethora of E3 assets we've got for this title will give you the opportunity to make up your own mind. Firstly - there is the multiplayer trailer.

In addition to this new video, Spark Unlimited have also released a series of other media pertaining to Legendary: The Box. These include The '3 Way Fights' Trailer and of course a bunch of shiny new screenshots.
Legendary: The Box is scheduled for a release in late September and will be distributed and published in Australia by Atari. I really hope that Spark Unlimited can pull off Legendary: The Box successfully, as it sounds like it has the makings of a very good plot.

Like most developers, we've always had a dream game that we've secretly been working on. We've made a name for ourselves with World War II first-person shooters, but Legendary: The Box is our labor of love. It's a thrill to work with Gamecock; they want to see the game completed exactly as we envision it.Hang on you say - World War II shooters? What?! Spark Unlimited were responsible for the abomination Turning Point: Fall of Liberty as reviewed by Matt K. Hopefully (and I'm hopeful with sheer honesty here) the game successfully translates the pitch, as the premise for the game is a little too good to be tarnished by bad gameplay or mechanics.
Myths. They were just stories; tall tales to explain the unexplainable. But unexplainable doesn't mean impossible.
Deep within the dusty basement of a New York Museum, recovered from the depths of the ocean floor, lies mythology's most infamous artifact: Pandora's Box. Sealed inside since time immemorial are creatures we though were works of fiction, myths created by our ancestors. There, they have raged, awaiting a chance to escape and seek vengeance upon mankind for sealing them in their prison.
Now rogue art thief Charles Deckard, hired by a shadowy organisation to steal the box, learns that the line between fact and fiction is not as clear as it seems.
During the mission, Deckard, unaware of the box's true identity unwittingly releases its horrors into the world, triggering a war between man and myth. Now, giant griffons rule the city skies, ravenous werewolves stalk the urban streets in search of flesh, and Deckard is left branded with a signet that is the secret to man's salvation. With the aid of clandestine paramilitary force, he must fight to seal the door between reality and myth or see the loss of civilisation to the tooth and claw of legend.
