StarCraft II - Not happening in 2008

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but in his Worldwide Invitational presentation about StarCraft II, Blizzard Executive Vice President Rob Pardo has effectively squashed the recent suggestion that the game would be arriving on store shelves on December 3rd.
Speaking about the game's development, he explained that they were "about a third of the way through" the campaign, and were concentrating on story structure and cinematics at this point - commenting that by the end of the year, Blizzard should have something very impressive to show off.

Looks like you can ask for something else for Christmas, then - a street date for StarCraft II is still a while away. On the other hand, he also confirmed that for the Apple gamers among us, they are intending (as with most other Blizzard games) that there will be a simultaneous launch on PC and Macintosh, so you don't miss out.
...and now, stick around, we should have the rest of Rob Pardo's presentation (including a detailed look at each of the three races) very soon!
