Okami - A painted wolf of a review

More than a year ago, a little game called Okami was released to the world. A delicate, fragile creature, this was a game that truly blurs the line between video game and art, boasting Japanese-inspired designs and breathtaking imagery.

Of course, as all good games seem to be, the PS2 title was largely ignored by the mainstream gaming public and the media, and it didn't sell well. Hopefully, the new port of the title, which has taken the original and shifted it over to the Wii, will do a little better, with some innovative motion-sensitive capabilities and a more intuitive interface. Matt K got out his celestial brush and has painted a review for us, and if you're looking for something a bit different, it's well worth a read - even if just to see how it compares to the PS2 preview from Rulke last year.
One thing that needs to be emphasised from the start is that Okami for the Wii is very much a direct port of the PlayStation 2 game. Fans of the previous version will be disappointed to know that there is nothing in the way of extra content. The only things that set the Wii version apart are new control mechanics such as using the Wii Remote for the Celestial Brush and attacks, and a few notable visual changes, including the addition of a widescreen mode.
