FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage crashes into PC
Some of you might recall a review written late last year by Not_Matt for FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage. Initially released for the Xbox 360, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage was a dramatically improved version of FlatOut 2, which originally appeared on the PC.

The FlatOut series is loved for its outrageous crashes, and fun, destructive gameplay. With the inclusion of with stunts, multiplayer, and a career mode, the FlatOut games have always been a little tongue in cheek, not taking themselves too seriously.

Bugbear Entertainment, the minds behind the FlatOut series have been quietly working away on moving all the new content which the Xbox 360 FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage introduced to the PC. Complete with refreshed and updated visuals, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage will be crashing into Windows PCs in the very near future.

Sean Walsh, Empire Interactive Product Manager is excited about the game moving to the Windows platform.
Ultimate Carnage looks stunning on Games for Windows. Bugbear have done an outstanding job on delivering possibly the most fun, most brutal, action crash-em-up ever seen on a Windows-based PC. Ultimate Carnage is set raise the bar for hi-octane destruction racing for the Windows platform.
Built completely from the ground up, Ultimate Carnage features enhanced visuals, more detailed car models, and much more. A taste of the improvements are as follows:
- 12 Cars on-screen at once (up from the 8 featured in FlatOut 2)

- Five all new singleplayer Modes and two new multiplayer modes

- 20,000 polygons per car (up from 7,500 in FlatOut 2)

- Over 8,000 dynamic objects per track (up from 5,000 in Flatout 2)

- Dynamic Lighting and Shadows

- Real time environment mapping on all cars
FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage will introduce new content not seen in a PC FlatOut game before, and should provide a breath of fresh air when compared to the recent release of Race Driver: GRID. You should be able to pick up FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage for PC from your local gaming emporium some time in July.
