Those of you who've managed to pull yourselves away from the Race Driver: GRID demo for a moment will be pleased to know that Codemasters have announced the final feature set for the multiplayer component.

In the demo, you get a small taste of what to expect, with two multiplayer events included along with the three single player races. Multiplayer races are limited to 12 players, contain full car damage and boasts a boot-load of other features.

So how much do we get as a multiplayer chunk of game? Quite a bit - there will be 32 race events featuring vehicles ranging from muscle cars to open wheel concept cars - and 80 different circuits in 15 locations world-wide.

An online ranking system will enable racers to compare their times against online foes and battle their way through ranks, advancing from Junior Rookie to Legend. Experience points will be rewarded based on a range of achievements, and for beating higher ranked opponents.

Race Driver: GRID will be available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on June 12th, with a Nintendo DS version arriving shortly after. If you've not played the demo yet, you can grab it on the mirror.
