Sacred II: Fallen Angel protected by a Blind Guardian
There are three things that I love in this world. The first is music, second, computer games, most notably RPGs, and the third - fantasy literature and mythology. They tend to overlap in my personal case, with my music interests ranging from gothic, symphonic, and black metal to classical.

When games are thrown into the mix which combine all three, I tend to become very happy. I was made happy this morning by a new trailer for Sacred II - Fallen Angel which features legendary power metal band Blind Guardian.

For the uninitiated, Blind Guardian was one of the first bands to develop power metal which explores fantasy themes based around literature, traditional mythologies and the Middle Ages.

Sacred II: Fallen Angel is scheduled for release in September this year. The track "Sacred" written and performed by Blind Guardian is crafted for use in the game.

This isn't the first time generally obscure sub-genres of metal have been combined with roleplaying games. One of my favourite bands, Within Temptation recently wrote the track "The Howling" for the game Chronicles of Spellborn. World of Warcraft isn't even safe from this syndrome with Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftan (a band comprised of those crazy folks at Blizzard) and their video "I am Murloc".
