TrackMania Nations Forever released, plus a United update

If you'd been looking for a bit of racy action, and you didn't want to shell out the big bucks, look no further than TrackMania Nations Forever, recently downloaded and totally free to play. The new "Forever" version of the Stadium environment features a complete solo mode, plus 65 (sixty-five!) brand new tracks, with progressive levels of difficulty.

We've got the 500MB installer hosted locally, or if you wanted to get a bit more swanky, it's also now available - free - over Steam.

On the other hand - if you don't mind paying for your games, the new TrackMania United Forever is due out in Australia next month, and is also available via Steam.

If you've already bought TrackMania United, there's a new, free, extension for you - United Forever - which brings a fantastic new graphical overhaul for the Desert, Stadium and Rally environments, originally released with the first TrackMania. There are also new solo campaigns, numerous new official tracks, plus brand new background and track blocks, adding even more variety to the tracks you design.

Wait... what?
TrackMania is a racing franchise, which allows you to create your own tracks, as well as race on other user-created designs.
Nations is the free version of the game (which is ad-supported).
United is the retail version (which has loads of content).
Forever is attached to the latest generation of the game.

Up until now, the free Nations fans could not race against the retail United version - but the release of TrackMania Nations Forever means that the huge TrackMania community can now all play together. Servers dedicated to the Stadium environment (which appears in both games) can host players from both the free version and the retail version, all racing against each other. How sweet!
