Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People - coming soon to WiiWare

Who is the coolest person ever? Why, Strong Bad, of course! ...and he's about to get even cooler, heading to the Wii, in a new series of episodic games from Telltale. Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is designed in partnership with Videlectrix, and will be based on the online animation, which has been going on over at Homestarrunner.com since way back in 2004.
This will be the very first episodic series developed for connected consoles, and SBCG4AP (that's the official abbreviation) has been designed specifically for WiiWare, using WiiConnect24 features and easy-to-use controls. A new "actionsode" will be released each month, just like Telltale's successful Sam & Max series, and we have the first teaser video and some screens, to tempt you.
Telltale CEO Dan Connors explains:
Designed like extended cartoons, the episodes see gamers assuming the role of Strong Bad himself, controlling his actions, becoming part of his awesome world, and even hearing his most secret thoughts (eek!). He's joined by the cast of characters from the Homestarrunner.com cartoons, and all of the voice acting is by Matt Chapman and the original cast.

A story-driven series with Strong Bad's unique comic twist, SBCG4AP is designed in a way that sees players uncovering each episode's plot through dialogue-based puzzles, character interaction and of course the use (and abuse!) of inventory items. For those of you who like more from your games, each episode is also crammed with "time-wasters", to keep players wandering around ingame... there's Strong Bad emails to check, prank phonecalls to make, and some of the arcade games from Homestarrunner.com make an appearance as mini-games.
Thousandaire gadabout Strong Bad laments:
Oh, and about the title? Don't worry, you can play it too.

"Homestarrunner.com is one of the biggest success stories in online entertainment. The Chapmans have been treating the Internet to episodic content for years. We're thrilled to have teamed up with them to take episodic gaming to the next level via Nintendo's innovative WiiWare delivery system."The "Chapmans" he's referring to are brothers Matt and Mike, who developed the online characters nearly ten years ago. Telltale is working closely with the Chapmans to ensure that the game's art style, storylines and scripts are all matched to the original series. This hands-on working style means that fans of the game will get the true Strong Bad experience, while newcomers to the game will be given a "crash course" in the unique and off-beat humour we've come to know and love.

"Telltale has been rejecting my ideas for green text adventures for years, but we finally reached a compromise with this puffy 3D point-and-click-em-up adventure. They claim all the coding was done with green text, so I guess that's pretty cool."If you are console-less, never fear - Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People will also be made available for PC.
