Following a release for the Nintendo DS entitled V8 Supercars: Create and Race, it appears that Codemasters are looking to extend upon their idea of allowing DS users to create tracks to race on. With the upcoming release of Race Driver: GRID, DS owners will be treated to some exclusive content creation which other platforms may be jealous of.
Set to be released on the DS, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, Race Driver: GRID is the next installment in the somewhat successful Race Driver Series.
The desire to create local tracks, racing tournaments or other scenarios is something which has driven a lot of racing related gaming. Examples of titles which have resulted in rich community feed games are rFactor, and Trackmania.
Editing and creating tracks for Race Driver: GRID on the DS could be very interesting and intuitive for many reasons. I can see it being entertaining making tracks for the game, especially with stylus support incorporated into the editor. The screenshots also tend to suggest that with a certain measure of patience, one can even create custom textures and the like.

It seems to be about time that the handheld market receives some special attention with such an interesting and exclusive feature. Of course hand held gamers won't be treated to the same sort of graphics which the guys playing this on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 will be getting, but DS owners will have the benefit of seemingly unlimited possibilities for track creation and challenging themselves, and their friends.

PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 may have shinier graphics, but DS owners can make tracks.
DS owners will also be able to trade tracks with each other wirelessely, or challenge their friends on their custom tracks.
Race Driver: GRID looks as though it could be an interesting game with the track editor, all piled on top of all of the regular content which will ship with the game.
