Bionic Commando Rearmed: The return of the side-scroller!
While we told you about it last week, Capcom and developer Grin have released some brand new information about Bionic Commando Rearmed, their makeover of the 20-year old classic, which will be available for PC as well as via Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network later this year.

This is in addition to the all-new next-gen sequel, Bionic Commando, due out soon for the same platforms.

To celebrate, we've got a bunch of screens for the new game, and even a new video, so you can see what you're getting yourself into.

Ben Judd, Producer of both the Bionic Commando sequel and Rearmed, comments:
"The release of Bionic Commando Rearmed allows us to deliver to fans of the original game a remake they have been clamouring for, whilst also introducing the series to a whole new audience. And with GRIN taking care of development we can ensure that there is real consistency across both the Bionic Commando titles."
While the sequel promises something all-new, Bionic Commando Rearmed sees modern gamers taking on the well-loved intense-2D side-scrolling action from the original 1988 version, complete with shooting and grappling. The gameplay's been updated with shiny new visuals (the in-game art's being designed by one of Capcom's best artists - Toshiaki Mori), powerful new weapons, online ranking ability, a revamped soundtrack, and a brand new 2-player co-op mode. Expect a return of classic Bionic Commando gameplay, all about that bionic grappling arm, too.

Even more exciting, both titles will include cross-game interoperability - completing parts of Rearmed will unlock new content, providing secret information about the characters and plot of the sequel.

As we get more news about both the new Bionic Commando sequel and Rearmed, we'll keep you posted.
