GTA IV - 16 Multiplayer Anyone?

Despite the add-ons and mods to previous GTA games, the multiplayer feature hasn't been seen since GTA2 in 1999. Rockstar's man at the Playstation Holiday event in Canada mentioned that they're aiming to have at least 16 simultaneous players in the multiplayer mode, and the deathmatch mode won't just be the only mode available to play.
So, 16 players in one match, that sure does sound interesting. I just hope the way how to set up a game/match isn't so complicated or bad just like it was in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas and Def Jam: Icon on the consoles, like how you just let it automatically search for a game around the globe rather than picking the server yourself just like in Counter-Strike: Source.
Rockstar's man also mentioned that the developers were considering the possibility of having an open world completely unlocked from the start of the game. The phrase that was used was "an open world" and not "the open world", so maybe this means "a city" rather than "the whole world"? Few questions have been floating around such as, would it be a good thing? Would it keep gamers interested? Tell us what you think, we'd love to know. I reckon it's a fairly good idea if they're referring to "a city", that way you'll be able to spend time learning the controls and getting smooth at them. However if it's the "whole world", then where is the progression and challenges in that? We're going to have to wait and see.
Grand Theft Auto IV is expected to be released around 2nd Quarter in 2008 (April/May/June) for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and we have several screens and few trailers for you to check out on our file library.
