The rumble in PS3 controllers is making a comeback to the Playstation franchise and it's going to be called Dual Shock 3. The new controller is expected to be released in Japan in November as a separately sold accessory, and will be introduced to the North American and European markets in early 2008.
During Hirai's speech at TGS he mentioned that the vibration was the most popular request from Playstation 3 users. He didn't mention the legal position that the company had with Immersion, however he did say that Sony has found a way to combine the vibration with the SIXAXIS motion control.
The Dual Shock 3 controller will the a dub from the black SIXAXIS, the only difference you will notice is the weight of the controller and on top of the controller where it will normally have written "SIXAXIS", has been replaced with "DUAL SHOCK 3".
On the floor at the TGS, they had several games playable that would already feature the vibration feeling. They were Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet & Clank Future, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, echochrome + many other. Hirai also announced in his speech that some of the current PS3 titles that are on the market are compatible to have the rumble feature, and that all they'll need is just a software update.
Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry 4, MotorStorm

A little while after Hirai announced that the PSP will be able to turn on and off the PlayStation 3 by using the Remote Play feature, and will be released soon in a firmware update. Which will be good idea for those that don't want to leave their PS3 consoles running all day. Also announced for the PSP is that it will be able to act as an additional display for PS3 games, yes this is still via Remote Play.
