Pre-Purchase the Orange Box, get Team Fortress 2 Beta!
Valve would like you to meet the Engineer.

If that one video isn't enough for you two to get properly acquainted, then you'd be advised to get over to Steam and pre-purchase your copy of The Orange Box. Not only will you save 10% off the regular price (if you order before October 10th), but you will be able to continue your relationship with exclusive access to the Team Fortress 2 beta, starting September 17th.

That's right. The Orange Box features Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal, as well as the original Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One, and is now available for pre-purchase, for the regular price of US$49.95.

Just in case you're not sure what we're talking about - the package contains three highly-anticipated new Valve releases - Half-Life 2: Episode Two is the second installment in the Half-Life 2 episodic trilogy. Team Fortress 2 is the sequel to the game that really put class-based / multiplayer team warfare on the map. Portal, on the other hand, is new - and blends puzzles, first-person action and adventure gaming to create something that is unique.

Half-Life 2: Episode Two
...even if you already have Half-Life 2 or Episode One, you can see you're getting a great deal. Once The Orange Box is officially released, you will be given the opportunity to "gift" these extra games to a friend, if you don't want a second copy for yourself.

But yes. The beta. It starts September 17th and gives gamers who have pre-purchased The Orange Box via Steam will be given the opportunity to download and activate the beta release of Team Fortress 2. This is, debatably, the year's most anticipated online action game, offering a gorgeous new signature art style (powered by Valve's next-generation animation technology), new game types and persistent player stats, among other features.

If that wasn't enough reason to pre-purchase, you'll also get a copy of Peggle Extreme thrown into the bargain. PopCap and Valve have teamed up to create a special edition of one of the most addicting games you're likely to play. This is the first ever collaboration between the two companies and is themed around content from The Orange Box, which will definitely result in Extreme Fever!

Now all that's out the way, here is the Engineer:
