Internode's own NWN Drow Wars hits Version 5
Back in the dim dark days of 2002, Bioware released the original Neverwinter Nights game, taking the RPG world by storm. In time, along came two fairly significant expansions that not only provided additional content, but extended the depth of the game by extending the base ruleset itself. But where NWN really shines, is the multiplayer side of the game .. combined with the ability to create entire realms from scratch. One excellent example is Internode's own Drow Wars module, which recently released its fifth major update.

In-game shots from Drow Wars

Set in the lands of Edon, the game is set between the struggle of the Surfacers and the Underdark. Players select a faction and battle the lands and each other to achieve greatness, or die trying. Drow Wars also uses an extensive crafting and merchant system, allowing every player to turn their hand to the creation of epic items of power and potential. A hidden Forge is rumoured to exist, that which can empower weapons and armour with the godlike powers. Interact with a deep, rich storyline and explore the realms with a group of fellow adventurers.

New Classes
We have introduced some new prestige classes to Edon, greatly expanding the potential character builds and role playing: Arcane Trickster, Eldritch Knight, Duelist, Frenzied Berserker, Warpriest, Divine Champion (evil) and Divine Champion (good).

Classes, Spells and Feats
We have altered the Assassin and Blackguard classes to help balance their abilities and spells to suit Edon, altered a number of feats and even added a new feat and spell (or two) to the list.

New Quests
A new quest series (with 16 quests in total) have now been made available within the crafting halls.

Drow Wars has been a community based project from the start, and thanks must be given to many many people for it's creation and evolution over the years. Whilst this list would be larger than this article, we are confident we can place some key names up front. Mustang for his dedication and seemingly tireless development work, Andre Axem for his ability to say "I can code that" and then actually coding it. Rolfy, CowboyX, Pfizzgig for their contributions, and the play testers for helping sooth the bugs from the game. To the DMs, to the Dev Team, and to those who started this thing back in the dark days, Kimba and Mal.

So, how do play? You will need a copy of Neverwinter Nights with the two expansions, Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark. These days, you can purchase the Diamond Pack which comes with these two modules, and pre-patched. Speaking of patching, you will need the latest patches and module hak packs, available from the Internode File Library.

Feel free to drop into the NWN Forums for more advice and to say hi. We've a great game here, a community that enjoys the game and extends it, and many more stories to tell in game.
