Metal Gear Solid Online Closed Beta / First Look at Eva from MGS4

Konami's Metal Gear 20th Anniversary party has unveiled a few surprises - not the least of them the announcement of a few more details for Metal Gear Online, a 16-player online version of the game for PS3.
If you're in Japan and want to play Metal Gear Online on PS3 before anyone else, why not take part in the closed beta test, where 3,000 lucky gamers will get the chance to "test and tweak" the online multiplayer game!
...if you're not in Japan, we've got a couple of pictures of Eva, from Metal Gear Solid 4 for you as consolation.
Now - we also have some screens for MGO (which is not an MMO, by the way), and these have just been released!

The new title is being described as "the ultimate online companion to MGS 4", so while rumours were floating around that "Metal Gear Online" was just going to be a part of MGS 4, it looks like that's not the case and it will be standalone.
If you are in Japan (or can convince people you are), then you should head over to the Kojima Productions website, here and sign in. The beta runs from August 20th until September 3rd, so make sure you're free and have a PS3 for the period.
No word yet on whether any other countries will get a look in on the beta, perhaps because the project was unveiled in Japan - but when we hear anything - about the beta or about the game itself - we'll let you know.
Anyway. Eva. She plays a crucial role in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, but nobody's quite sure what she's doing. Either way, she's aged very well...

This is all shaping up nicely!
