Uncharted 3 Patched, Co-Op Survival Mode Incoming - Naughty Dog to Pass on the Vita

A slew of news today for fans of Uncharted developer Naughty Dog. On a positive note, a new patch has been released for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, and a new upcoming co-op game mode announced. In less thrilling news for gamers picking up a Playstation Vita tomorrow to play Uncharted: Golden Abyss, it seems the developer has no interest in developing games for Sony's new handheld.

Patch 1.05 has been released today in conjunction with Flashback Map Pack #2, to help fuse the new DLC to the game and resolve technical issues. It includes integrated bandwidth testing for hosts and also a few medal fixes for good measure.

Announced today by Naughty Dog, a new co-op Shade Survival game mode will be available for download in March.

Both the Flashback Map Pack #2 and the co-op Shade Survival game mode are free for Fortune hunter's Club members or available for purchase separately.

Speaking out on NeoGAF, the studio's community manager Arne Meyer has cast doubt that the studio will be developing titles for the Vita anytime soon.
"I hate to sound like a treading the line spin-meister here, but I've said that traditionally consoles have played to our strengths - and desires to push the utmost limit of resources and memory our tech and engine. That can change with the right handheld, as why I said I won't ever say "never" but we hadn't encountered that yet - that's why Jak TLF wasn't an internal project for us."
The studio's decision should not be interpreted as criticism of Sony's new handheld however. Despite the abundance of handheld titles attached to Naughty Dog created licenses, the studio is yet to internally produce a handheld game of its own. Golden Abyss was developed by SCE Bend Studio under Naughty Dog's guidance.
