Borderlands 2 to See Release on Tegra 3 Powered Android Devices
![]() On a tablet? You're kidding me! |
If you were looking at picking up an Android device in the near future, you will want to make sure it's packing a Tegra 3 chipset. NVIDIA have done some terrific work with the Tegra series and the Tegra 3, codenamed Kal-El, is no exception. Featuring a quad-core CPU, Tegra 3 truly shoehorns the power of a PC into the palm of your hands. Now, in an indication of the chipset's true potential, Gearbox Software made an appearance at PDXLAN 19 last week, demoing Borderlands 2 running on a Tegra 3-powered Android tablet.
Despite the exciting example of the chipset's might, not all were too pleased with the demonstration. According to Android and Me, some attendees were disappointed, expecting NVIDIA to show off the Kepler GPU.
It is an exciting example of the future for the smartphone and table market none the less, and it truly questions the need for dedicated handheld gaming devices in the market.
No further details about an Android release are known at this point in time. The title is scheduled to release in Winter 2012 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
