505 Games has announced that the official expansion pack for ArmA: Armed Assault will be released later in the year. The expansion is called ArmA: Queen's Gambit. ArmA was developed by Bohemia Interactive and the team who were responsible for creating Operation Flashpoint and the military simulation Virtual Battlespace.

ArmA: Queen's Gambit will create two new story based campaigns which will continue on after the original release. Rahmadi Conflict creates a new conclusion to the orginal game. There will be massive battles fought on Rhamadi Island and a new Island will be introduced called Porto Island. Royal Flush is the other new campaign. This is set 18 months after ArmA. The government organize for six mercenaries to come in and perform some "clean up" operations after the original conflict. This campaign will feature a twist to it where all is not as it seems.

There will also be several new multiplayer missions introduced in to the game:

· Urban Raid: A cooperative multiplayer scenario designed for a group of six battle-hardened Special Forces soldiers.
· Battle of Porto: A "capture and hold" scenario for forty players on a brand new and beautiful sandy island of Porto.

The game will also install the final 1.8 patch for ArmA as well.This patch will introduce: new weapons, vehicles and characters, new resource management feature and gun dealers. There will also be a number of improvements for the game as well.



Look for ArmA: Queen's Gambit at all good and bad retailers later this year.
