The Marriage of EVE Online and Dust 514

The PC-only MMORPG epic that is EVE Online working in holy matrimony with the PS3-bound console shooter, Dust 514? How ever are CCP going to make this happen? Why are they even trying to make this happen? Because, potentially, it could be awesome. Potentially. If… they can get it to work. Speaking to Gamasutra, CCP producer Thomas Farrer explained just how such an undertaking will function in practice, and what to expect from the surprise union.

“There's no difference between a Dust corporation and an EVE corporation. It's the same thing. Dust players can join an EVE corporation. If a Dust player creates a corporation, EVE players can join that corporation. It's the same thing. Say if, for example, you only have pilots in your corp, you can quite easily hire a mercenary-only corporation to fight for you. You want them to go and just destroy someone's things on a planet or take control of them for you, you can do that. You can hire them; you can use them as mercenaries."

Reportedly, CCP currently have the PC and PS3 successfully chatting away to each other, with EVE Gate integration and VOiP on the cards, too. Read the whole thing here.
