The Wii is seeing support from some major developers since they first sighted the console at E3 last year. Electronic Arts have jumped on the bandwagon and so have Take Two. It is reported that EA will have a dozen games or so due out on the Wii this year. Major retailers are showing that Take Two will be releasing the controversial Manhunt 2 on the system. Take Two also have another two games in development for the console, namely The Bigs and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It is also reported that Activision will have six games to release on Wii this year as well. This includes the recent leaking by online retailers of two major games for the Wii, Project Sylpheed and Resident Evil 4. Obviously, major developers cannot afford to ignore a console which looks set to have the largest installation base because they are in it to make a profit.
Nintendo set out to disprove the theory that bigger is better. Sony and Microsoft are like Tim the Toolman from Home Improvements with his guttural throat noises saying, "More power". Nintendo have come out and said, "You can have more power, we are going to make a better, more innovative console." As more consumers purchase it and more developers make games for the Wii we might be seeing the biggest selling console in history. What you will then see is Microsoft and Sony jumping on the Wii bandwagon. They will bring out additions to their consoles which incorporate the same technology and then say to everyone, "Look at how good we are. Look at what we have done."
