Take-Two Reaps Red Dead Profits - Officially Delays LA Noire

Announcing company earnings today, Take Two brought with it news that the company is fit, healthy and looking to end the year in the green. Revenue is up and the company is looking on track to meet targets.

As for the negative? Read for yourself and shed a tear...
“The release of L.A. Noire is now expected during the first half of calendar 2011.”
Yes, that's right, the hotly anticipated title from Team Bondi will not be making it's way into shops this year and might not be available until June next year!

After a no show at E3 and speculation from analysts last week, the news is hardly shocking, but no less disappointing. L.A. Noire has been largely veiled in secrecy since it's announcement in 2005. Can we at least get a new trailer soon please?

On to the positive news now. After costing a pretty penny to develop, the 6.9 million copies sold of Western fable Red Dead Redemption pushed company revenue up to $354.1 million USD ($388.6 million AUD) for the past financial quarter, ended July 31. The staggering revenue is more than triple the revenue posted for the same period in '09.

All things considered revenue equates to just $5.9 million USD ($6.5 million AUD) in profit, but that's a whole lot better than the $56.5 million USD ($62 million AUD) loss the company posted for the same period last year. The upside is that the publisher believes this will be the first fiscal year in almost a decade that the company will post a profit without the assistance of a major Grand Theft Auto release.
