Dante's Inferno is a game that I'm kind of looking forward to. While there are enough fantasy games, by the time it is released, it should be something fresh and new.
If the new cinematic trailer is anything to go by, the game should be pretty good. If only that sort of story telling and art direction could be maintained throughout the entire game, then I'd get really excited.

Obstructionist SA State Attorney General Michael Atkinson has stated repeatedly that he has no intention of permitting a nation-wide R18+ rating for video games.
With that in mind, Queensland gamers are taking matters into their own hands. A petition has been started at the official website of the Queensland Parliament, with a view to creating a R18+ rating for the exclusive benefit of the Sunshine State...

It’s no surprise that, if we had to choose to take one game to a desert island for the rest of our life, we’d take a Battlefield title. The sublime mix of vehicles, massive maps and destructible mayhem make it our favourite way to play online. It'd be a great way to spend our last two days before dying from dehydration.
Understandably, we’re rather excited about the release of today’s closed beta for Bad Company 2 - we’ve got a key, and will be recording a video preview post haste. To keep you busy in the meantime, check out this new Battlefield Moments video, showing exactly why this game makes MW2 its female dog.

Everyone knew that Modern Warfare 2 was going to sell a lot of copies. In just five days, Activision have managed to sell US$550 million worth of Modern Warfare 2, making it, according to internal Activision estimations, the largest entertainment launch in all of recorded history, surpassing Grand Theft Auto IV, the film The Dark Knight, and even JK Rowling's Harry Potter books.
While Modern Warfare has sold an awful lot, it isn't the only thing making cash registers spark up and dollar signs float in the air around the Activision castle. CEO of the of the company, Robert Kotick has also pulled quite a profit from the launch of the game, through selling shares in the company. By selling off a bunch of shares, the CEO has made himself approximately US$40 million richer in just one week.

Seriously game publishers, stop it. Right now. We're sick to death of you releasing so many amazing games over the last month. We've got so many must-play games that our loved ones are feeling neglected, our personal hygiene is non-existent and the dog left weeks ago after we forgot to feed it four days in a row.
But you can't help yourselves, can you? You just had to deliver yet another AAA title, in the form of Assassin's Creed 2.

We all know that Modern Warfare 2 has found its way into the news constantly for all the wrong reasons. Today, we've got a new one for you. The game has sparked controversy with Russian authorities who were rumoured to object to several scenes in the game, which are said to portray the Russian state as a terrorist entity. Apparently - it is the airport scene where players can choose to gun down innocent civilians that is causing all the trouble for the Russian government.
The Kremlin has placed a temporary ban on Modern Warfare 2, and has recalled all unsold copies of the game. Activision has released a patch for the Russian version which removes the airport level, and plans to re-release a new version of the game that excludes the airport level completely from the game.

Recent lay-offs at EA have seen many employees lose their jobs. While we've been constantly assured that the release date of any games will be affected, the latest news out of EA's series of downsizes is not all that good. Pandemic Studios is the latest victim of EA's cost-cutting measures, with the studio's operations to be consolidated into the EA LA studio.
It is expected that the release of The Saboteur will not be effected by the closure of Pandemic. What is expected is that some 200 employees will lose their job, including the CEO, President, and Vice President of Pandemic, not to mention many code monkeys, artists, and other developers.

What have the gaming public been buying this week via digital distribution platform Steam? Lots of sequels, well, at least for the top two spots. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 somehow managed to be the biggest seller, and it was closely followed by Left 4 Dead 2. While strictly not a sequel, Dragon Age: Origins also performed well, with the standard and deluxe editions both selling a bunch of copies. The top five was rounded out by Borderlands.

With the release of Left 4 Dead 2 today, Aussies are facing a severely censored version of the game. In fact, it’s been so heavily censored that it’s missing key features present in the original game, such as semi-persistent bodies, and blood splatter.
Well, not any more – a quick config hack has unlocked full gore for Aussies, at least in the demo.
