Codemasters will be offering refunds to customers that purchased the recently released Colin McRae Rally on Steam, based on reports of dissatisfaction with the fact that the game is a Windows 8.1 and OSX port of last year’s mobile release, as opposed to the original classic from the ‘90s.

Check out the announcement from Codemasters, via the Steam forums:

At Codemasters, we care about our customers and pride ourselves on listening to our community.

We understand that some people who bought Colin McRae Rally on Steam are upset and feel that it isn’t the game they thought it would be. We have now updated the product description for clarification.

Furthermore, as an act of good faith, we have worked with Valve to enable anyone that bought the game to claim a refund. The ability to refund will be available until the 19th August.

To process a refund, please go to your account transactions page and you will see a “Refund” button for Colin McRae Rally. We hope this goes some way to restoring any lost faith and thank you as always, for your continued support.

They should do the same for Sacred 3 IMO. Same grounds.

I’m so glad I read reviews and comments on both Colin McRae and Sacred 3 before splashing cash out, both of them look terrible.

Never has it been so easy to take back a shit game! Kudos to Codemasters for that at least. *Faith restored* :D

When I saw this game popup, emailed it to my mates as we played this game for many late night LAN’s. Then we all read the reviews and decided against it. Still have my original CMR2 CD at least.

I saw this coming out and thought u know what… I am actually in the mood for a good rally game….

…Then reinstalled Richard Burns Rally

millenium7,

Good choice.
