Rust’s new update allows you to dress other players while they sleep

Survival simulator Rust already has a history of some really-messed up behaviour, and now thanks to a bug in a new update to the game’s experimental branch, things are about to get even messier.

The new bug allows you to not only undress, but also dress players while they sleep. “It’ll probably stay in,” said developer Garry Newman to Polygon. “It’s really part of the ability to undress sleeping players (to steal their clothes without killing them). I can’t think of a legit reason for dressing sleeping players, but I’m sure it will emerge.”

“My plan right now is to polish up what we have, get it playable and error free next week. At this point I think we’ll have a strong enough foundation to let GPS start hosting servers and start implementing real shit.”

Yeesh. There was a guy on the server I played on who used to mug people for their pants. He actually broke into my house with backup and forced me to give up my trousers in return for not killing me and taking all my stuff.

I imagine he’ll be loving this change.

You’re going to wake up one day covered in hundreds of pairs of pants with a note from this guy pinned to the wall that just says “Now I can do THIS instead”

“A Game of Pants” – Winter is coming…

I used to steal pants prolifically in Morrowind way back in the day. Those poor fools of Vvardenfell completely without pants, those dust storms would of stung a right treat.

Steal pants in a multiplayer game you say? So In Rust I can now build a house around you and then force you to wear pants even if you are asleep?!

The gaming Gods have blessed me this day.
