The first of many.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback - you know, the Jagged Alliance remake that isn’t terrible – has received its first major update since entering the bottomless pit that is Steam’s Early Access databanks. And in keeping with the spirit of Jagged Alliance 2 - which was the most superior title of anything baring the JA moniker – some excellent additions have been made to Flashback.
“Keep your mercenaries healthy, as they can now bleed to death if you don’t patch them up with bandages,” the announcement warns, adding that raincoats will be necessary for the new weather system. Whether raincoats are an equippable item isn’t actually known at this stage, although you can dress your mercenaries up and down. The full list is below.
- Advanced Combat (SMGs and Handguns added, reloading)
- Northern Island added – explore 22 new sectors
- Grenades & destructible environment
- Day/Night cycle
- Weather system
- Dress your mercenary – more items & armor added
The inclusion of the Northern Island, content-wise, is probably the biggest addition. Jagged Alliance was always about the holding, capture and recapture of territory to smack down that ruthless despot Deidranna, so having a bigger sandbox to play in will no doubt be welcome news.
