Team Fortress 2′s Love and War update adds parachutes for soldiers and demos

The second day of Team Fortress 2‘s Love and War update has arrived, and this time around it’s the reveal of… well, a bunch of items. Not very surprising really, but there you go.

Probably the most interesting and game-changing item is “The B.A.S.E. Jumper”, a parachute item for soldiers and demos that can be deployed by press jump in mid-air to slow your descent. Intriguing!

I see a new sniper rifle in the background of the video.
(Unless it’s already in, I haven’t played in some months now).

I crafted two breadboxes out of some spare hats and got the mutant bread milk for scout and the bread sapper for spy. Bread sapper is hilarious. :D

No sign of giant bread monster thus far. :(

Also makes them a bigger target. Any decent sniper would be able to take a nicely floating demo with their eyes closed. Unless that’s what you mean.


They retain a LOT of air control while parachuting so it’s not as easy as you might think. Will be interesting to see what sort of crazy strategies people come up with in the weeks ahead.


And they have f%&^ed the sticky launcher hard.

50% damage nerf before 2 seconds. Ridiculous!

As someone who mostly plays scout these days, demomen, pepper your angus!

I don’t look forward to when I’m in a pub and there are 6 sentries on the other team.
