No mess, no fuss -- no plugins or mods, either.

Mojang have announced that Minecraft Realms, their official Minecraft multiplayer server experience, is now available worldwide.
Starting at $13 AUD a month, Realms servers are fully whitelisted so you can explicitly control who gets in or out, and only the host needs to pay the subscription fee. There’s a limit of 10 players per server at any one time, although 20 people can be on the whitelist. Check out the Realms FAQ here for more details.
Currently only the PC/Mac versions of Minecraft are supported.
Notably, Minecraft Realms does not allow mods or texture packs — this is a straight-up, plain vanilla Minecraft experience. If you’d like to host a Minecraft server with mods and plugins, why not consider Gameservers.com? Thanks to iiNet’s partnership with them, you can get a lightning-fast, quota-free server right here in Australia on iiNet hardware. Get more details here.
