Dark Souls and Games for Windows LIVE: Bandai Namco looking into solutions

Dark Souls

As every man and his dog scrambles to flee the sinking ship that is Games for Windows LIVE, Bandai Namco have discussed the subject on their official blog.

“With the release of Dark Souls II, many players have been asking questions about the continued support of Dark Souls I,” says the post. “We thoroughly appreciate the dedicated fans who are adventuring through Lordran (maybe for the first time!) and we’d like to clarify a few points.”

Dark Souls will remain fully functional on GFWL for the foreseeable future. BANDAI NAMCO Games is currently seeking avenues to continue support and ensure the functionality of Dark Souls on other services. We will have more news and updates to share on this in the coming months.”

Dark Souls 2, of course, does not have Games For Windows LIVE. Read our review here.

There fixed it for you. Also just so you know playing Dark Souls offline misses a lot of the major stuff, like the blood stains and messages. Helps a lot when exploring as you don’t have to guess where traps and stuff are. Also you can multiplay, if that’s your thing. (I didn’t like being invaded, but others quite enjoy it so…)

+1 friggen hate being invaded slows my progresses right down having said that the only time I have died to invasion was being pushed into a lake a toxin … that was a bad day.
