Battlefield 3 free on Origin right now (yes, absolutely free)

Battlefield 3

As part of their “here are some free games” program, EA are now giving away Battlefield 3 for literally nothing until June 4.

Hit up this link to learn more and grab it for yourself! It really couldn’t be easier. And then once you’ve got it, why not play on games.on.net’s Battlefield 3 servers? What a solid idea. Sorted.

Previous free games given away on Origin include Dead Space and Plants vs. Zombies (which appears to still be free, so get on that if that’s your thing).

Would that include the DLC?

I would assume not as the idea of it being free would be to make money on the DLCs.

EDIT: Checked the origin store. It shows the free one as being “Standard” with the optional Premium edition which is $40.

Thanks, I’ll give it a go. Apparently I’ve already got an Origin account, though I can’t remember why!

heh, i payed something like $80 for this when it came out. My friends urged me to get it because it was ‘sooo good’. In the end we only played it for a few weeks. Was just another fps game like every other. I’ll stick with tf2 for my fps fix.

I’m surprised everyone doesn’t already own this from the origin Humble bundle.

Probably why it’s free, those who would have “Had to have it” would have paid full price, or near it, then the cheap-skates would have settled on the Humble Bundle, now it’s free in the hopes of making that up with the overpriced DLC.

Personally, I used the game as a benchmarking tool for my PC, that’s about it, worked great for that and looked pretty, gameplay wise, it’s really not an improvement over Bad Company.

Waits… for BF4 to be free ;)

EA wait’s for it to be profitable…

Free? Sure why not.

hellbender,

Same boat mostly though a friend was grabbing it from UK so it cost $50 but took forever to get here. By the time I got it all of my friends were tiring of it though tbh in the week or 2 I played I got over it really quick. Was nothing compared to BC2.

So this is the 5th free game I’ve gotten off EA… BC2, BF1942 digital edition, Fifa 10, PvZ and now BF3… waits for C&C.

mugsy,

I got the CnC Ultimate Collection from JB for $10 so i’m hoping for something else. XD
