Watch Dogs’ PC specifications revised again – GTX 560 ti or Radeon HD7850 recommended

We are less than two months away from the PC release of Watch Dogs, and so the game has now popped up on Steam, available to pre-purchase. The pc specifications have also been made official – and while they mostly match the specifications Ubisoft release last October, there is one change – to the recommended video cards list.

Yes, instead of the nVidia GTX460 and AMD Radeon HD5850 which served as the bottom rung of last year’s recommended specifications, the recommended specs now suggest an nVidia GTX560 ti or an AMD Radeon HD7850 – or better, of course. Everything else remains the same – you’ll still need at least 6GB of ram, a Quad Core processor and a 64bit Windows operating system.

As I mentioned previously, you can now pre-purchase Watch Dogs on Steam, with it costing $59.99 USD for the standard version or $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition. Both purchases come with the Blume Agent Pack, which gives you a new outfit and a recoil minimizing perk, and the Deluxe Edition comes with an hour of additional gameplay in the form of four missions, as well as several additional outfits and perks.

^ you got a giggle out of me.

I wouldn’t have thought the recommended specs would be so low considering how pretty the initial videos were.

Its also being released on 9 year old consoles with their 10+ year old hardware.

A properly put together game is generally going to be very scalable. You probably don’t want to play with minimum specs, but it can be done.

An 8 core CPU?

Seems legit.

you mean an 8 core 3770

Is this another one of those gay console ports?

koven,

No I believe this one is a straight console port.

Like nearly every other game currently being released.

koven,

ottomatic,

Ubisoft usually aren’t bad with PC Ports, Far Cry 3 was pretty good after a few initial problems.

AC4 got fixed up and runs a lot smoother now and looks great.

Just going to get out there and on the record and say that I don’t like it any more when people use the term ‘gay’ to describe something in a negative sense.

It’s the new n-word and I’d like to eradicate it from these forums.

(and just to prevent the onslaught from the PC brigade this is tongue in cheek (and I use PC in the politically correctness sense, not the personal computer sense))

Straight male here, I’m sick of my sexual preference being used as a slur….. lul

nekosan,

its gotten a graphics downgrade since the first hype trailers, as most seem to be doing nowadays…

Graphically this could match GTA V. Just don’t mention gameplay, soundtrack or story.

Well before I built a new pc, I had a bit of an issue with my laptop and farcry 3.
It was working fine, and I was three quarters through the game, then a patch broke it, and it crashed on launch.
Ubisoft support said they did not support laptops, so it wasn’t their problem.

accidental double post
